Tara Deshpande was born on December 8, 1975, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a Maharashtrian family, her early years were marked by a sharp focus on both the arts and education. She attended the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School and later graduated from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, with a degree in Economics and Political Science.
Before her film debut, Tara was already a recognizable face as an MTV VJ and a prominent figure in Mumbai’s English theatre circuit. She was famously launched on stage by the legendary Alyque Padamsee, playing the titular role in the historical play Begum Sumroo.
